This form is used to transmit the details of any program on which an IIT student is planning to study abroad which is not available in the AbroadOffice application system at https://iit.abroadoffice.net Before completing this form, create an account at https://iit.abroadoffice.net/register.html Contact the Study Abroad Office at studyabroad@iit.edu with any questions. Students interested in pursuing an external study abroad program are expected to independently research the desired program. This includes being knowledgeable of the program's application requirements and deadlines. IIT does not allow travel to countries where an active State Department Travel Warning is issued. A list of current travel warnings can be found at http://travel.state.gov ACADEMIC CONCERNS The Study Abroad Office and the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs will work with the student to determine which courses will be acceptable for credit transfer; however, it is the student's responsibility to speak with his/her academic advisor about the courses the student plans to take abroad and to find appropriate program contacts to facilitate communication between IIT and the host program/university. It is also the student's responsibility to determine if s/he is eligible for the program in the first place (for example, necessary pre-requisites are met, current GPA is above the host program/university minimum, program level is appropriate, the program allows students without an agreement between institutions in place, etc.). FINANCIAL CONCERNS Institutional scholarships cannot be applied to an external study abroad program. Federal financial aid may be applied if an agreement can be reached in sufficient time. The Study Abroad Office and the Office of Financial Aid will work with the student on the financial aspects of study abroad, including assisting the student with study abroad scholarships applications.
This is different from IIT's study abroad application deadline for initial permission to study abroad
